Authentic Mexican Hammock in 100% Nylon mesh

The history of this hammock is a bit special. Indeed, a new craftsman who was responsible for weaving our Queen Maya XXL “Alebrije” model apologized for his mistake, explaining to us that he had not respected the color code of this model. Quite annoyed, he sent us photos. Imagine his surprise to learn that he had just unwittingly participated in the creation of a new model: the Queen Maya XXL “Alebrije 2”

The Queen Maya XXL “Alebrije 2” hammock: A treasure of Mexican craftsmanship

If you are looking for a truly exceptional hammock, you have come to the right page with our Queen Maya XXL “Alebrije 2”! Made with an exceptional weaving technique and featuring spectacular colors, this durable hammock stands out for its absolute comfort, but it is much more than that. It is the fruit of centuries of Mexican craftsmanship and the hammock tradition in Latin America.

A cultural heritage woven into every thread

What makes the QUEEN MAYA unique is its woven mesh arms. Expertly woven artisan ties not only make them visually captivating, but also incredibly durable. Each QUEEN MAYA hammock requires between ten and fifteen days of meticulous work, reflecting the commitment of our artisans to perpetuate an ancient art.

With an impressive width of 2m20, this hammock offers generous space to lie down lengthwise or widthwise. Designed to comfortably accommodate 2 to 3 people, the QUEEN MAYA is reinforced with an additional amount of thread in its fabric. This makes the hammock bed even softer and adaptable to various situations. Its large size also allows for a wider color palette, to satisfy all tastes.

Mexican craftsmanship at the heart of each stitch

Our Mexican hammocks, like the QUEEN MAYA, are the result of a tradition preserved for centuries. Handmade in the Chiapas regions of southern Mexico, they are the result of the hard work of four artisan families. This ancestral technique is steeped in the history of the region. In the past, the state of Chiapas was a production area for Ixtle and Henequen, plants that were used to make the first hammocks.

Uncompromising durability with 100% Nylon

The QUEEN MAYA is made from 100% nylon. It is the same material used in making fishing nets. This means it can withstand extreme weather conditions, whether it's frost, rain or sun. This makes it the ideal choice for year-round outdoor use. Although robust, we recommend storing it under cover after use to ensure its longevity.

The Mexican nylon hammock: The best companion for the European summer

For many Europeans, the Nylon Mexican Hammock is the go-to choice for summer. Unlike cotton, which can deteriorate under prolonged exposure to sun and rain, nylon offers increased durability while maintaining almost the same level of comfort. In the south of Mexico, where temperatures are hot almost all year round, the hammock is used daily as an alternative to the bed, thanks to the air circulation offered by its net, a perfect solution against the heat. Distance between the ground and the hammock

This is a fairly recurring question from our customers. Indeed, the height of the hammock is also a crucial element to ensure comfortable use. A recommended height is generally around 50cm empty, between the ground and the bottom of the hammock. This is so you can sit down and get out of the hammock elegantly and easily.

Important point : remember that when you lie inside the hammock, it can stretch about 15 cm. It will also depend on the fabric used, the elasticity of the ropes, as well as your weight obviously. It is therefore essential to take this point into account during your installation. To find out more: The 5 good reasons to choose a Mexican hammock

Did you know?

Although some houses are modernizing and starting to change, traditional houses have always been full of hammocks: in the living room, in the bedrooms, on the terrace, in the garage, even in the kitchen. Mexicans have a habit of saying that they never really know where they will want to take a nap or who might show up unexpectedly.
You will have understood, "This croissant for sleeping" about which a Mexican poet sang, is an essential piece of furniture in any self-respecting traditional Mexican house.
